In this paper, researchers explore the integration of low-light image enhancement techniques with AI-generated content models to enhance nighttime teleoperation. The AI-generated content model is computation-intensive and requires allocation to edge servers with ample computational resources. A pricing strategy is formulated to optimize utility for both teleoperators and edge servers. However, due to information asymmetry, demand (difficulty level and distribution of tasks) is hidden from edge servers. To address this, the researchers devise a framework combining Vision Language Model-empowered contract theory. The first component enables automatic difficulty assessment, while the second component formulates pricing strategies under information asymmetry. The results show that the proposed framework improves average utility for teleoperators and edge servers by 10.88-12.43% and 1.4-2.17%, respectively.

Nighttime teleoperation needs better image enhancement techniques. Researchers created a new model to make it work, but it’s very computation-intensive, so they had to find a way to use the right amount of computers to handle the workload. They also wanted to make sure that both the people controlling the remote equipment and the computers doing the processing were getting a good deal. To do this, they used a special kind of computer program called a Vision Language Model-empowered contract theory. This helped them figure out how hard each job was and what price was fair for it. The results showed that their new way of doing things made everything better for both sides.
