The authors propose a supervised fine-tuning (SFT) process to develop instruction-tuned math models, achieving competitive performance across general domains before targeting the math domain. They also construct AceMath-RewardBench, a comprehensive benchmark for evaluating math reward models, and present a systematic approach to build their math reward models. The resulting model, AceMath-72B-RM, consistently outperforms state-of-the-art reward models when combined with AceMath-72B-Instruct, achieving the highest average rm@8 score across math reasoning benchmarks.
