The proposed solution aims to address privacy concerns in robot vacuum cleaner applications by implementing end-to-end encryption. This integration enables users to customize cleaning settings or access information about their devices, but it also raises potential privacy risks due to exposure of personal information. To mitigate these risks, the authors investigated the feasibility of private information exposure through network header metadata using Association Rule Learning. A real-world deployment of a popular robot vacuum cleaner was conducted in a smart environment, where passive network eavesdropping captured Internet traffic metadata during multiple cleaning events. The results demonstrate that it is possible to identify certain events using only this metadata, potentially exposing private user information and raising privacy concerns.
