Modeling multivariate time series is a crucial problem with far-reaching applications in healthcare, finance, and beyond. This paper tackles the limitations of traditional State Space Models (SSMs) by introducing Chimera, a novel approach that uses two input-dependent 2-D SSM heads to capture long-term progression and seasonal patterns. To improve training efficiency, the authors propose a new parallel selective scan algorithm for complex 2D recurrence.
