This paper tackles the challenging task of recovering a 4D world from monocular video, relaxing constraints on camera parameters and scene stability. This paper makes it possible to recover a 4D world from just one video taken with a single camera. This is important because often we only have one camera, but want to see what’s happening in different parts of the scene. The authors created a new way called GFlow that can do this by using information about depth and movement in the video. GFlow looks at each part of the video separately, deciding if it’s moving or not, and then uses this information to work out where the camera is and how it moved. This means we can use the video to create new views of the scene from different angles.
