LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) enables personalized updates and minimizes computational costs for each participant. However, current state-of-the-art methods require manual configuration of initial rank, which becomes impractical as the number of participants grows. To address this limitation, AutoRank is proposed, an adaptive rank-setting algorithm inspired by the bias-variance trade-off. It leverages TOPSIS to dynamically assign local ranks based on data complexity and provides fine-grained adjustments to mitigate challenges in double-imbalanced, non-IID data. Experimental results show that AutoRank reduces computational overhead, enhances model performance, and accelerates convergence. |
